How do search results for car rentals get sorted and filtered?

Published:

. Ranking: How Listings Are Sorted
Attractiveness: Listings with a high ratio of bookings or booking requests compared to their search appearances are ranked higher. This ratio indicates the listing’s appeal to drivers.
Price: Listings with competitive prices compared to similar options are ranked better. Extremely high or low prices can lower a listing’s rank to prevent price wars or mismatched expectations.
Acceptance Rate: For listings without Instant Booking, a higher acceptance rate (the ratio of accepted booking requests to received requests) improves the ranking.
Distance: Listings closer to the search address are ranked higher.
Duration: The ranking adapts based on the rental duration, with certain cars better suited for short or long bookings.
Listing Age: New listings get a temporary boost in rank until they start accumulating bookings.
Responsiveness: For listings without Instant Booking, those from owners who respond quickly to requests rank higher
2. Filters: Choosing Which Cars Appear
Listings must be available for the selected dates and times.
The driver must be allowed to book the car based on rental rules.
Rental conditions should align with the selected dates
