What should I do when starting and finishing a Meet Owner rental?

Published:

Starting Your Meet Owner Rental:

Preparation:
Download the app on your phone.
Ensure your profile is verified at least 48 hours before the rental starts. Go to the profile verification page in the app and follow the steps if you’re not verified yet.
Check-In:
Complete and upload the check-in inspection on the app before you start driving. This inspection is mandatory and helps document the car’s condition to avoid charges for damage or cleaning.
Bring the original copy of your driver’s license for the owner to verify.
Take clear photos of the car’s exterior and interior. This helps with any potential disputes about the car’s condition and ensures you won’t be charged for additional cleaning if you return the car in the same state.
Ending Your Meet Owner Rental:
Check-Out:
Complete the check-out inspection on the app when you meet the owner to return the car. Follow the app’s steps and upload the inspection.
Take clear photos of the car’s exterior and the fuel reading. This ensures you’re protected from inaccurate damage or cleanliness claims and helps with refunds if you return the car with more fuel.

If the Owner Is Late:
The owner must inform you through the app or SMS at least 30 minutes before the rental start time if they are going to be late.
Both parties should agree on a new time for check-in. If an agreement is reached, you will be reimbursed for the missed hours.
If the delay is the owner’s fault or they did not inform you properly, you will receive a refund, and the owner will not be paid.

If You Are Late:
Inform the owner through the app or SMS at least 30 minutes before the rental start time if you are going to be late.
Agree on a new check-in time with the owner. If you both agree, you will not be reimbursed for the missed time.
If you cannot agree on a new time and the delay is not your fault (with proof), you will be fully refunded, and the owner will not receive their payout.
If the delay is your fault or you did not inform the owner properly, you will not receive a refund, and the owner will receive their full payout.
If You Cancel:
If you cancel after changing the date/time or do not show up within 30 minutes of the start time, you will not receive a refund, and the owner will receive their full payout.
